Paul Newman Movie Titles

Throughout his life Paul Newman was an avid race fan.

Even if you are a mega fan of his work, there may be few Paul Newman movie titles you aren't familiar with.

About Paul Newman

Born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Paul Newman began his acting career at the age of seven in a local production of Robin Hood. His father owned a sporting goods store and his mother stayed home to raise Paul and his brother Arthur.

After graduating from high school in 1943, Newman went on to college, but found it really wasn't for him and decided to join the Navy in hopes of becoming a pilot. His hopes were dashed when during his physical screening, doctors discovered that he was color blind. Newman was sent to basic training and served as a gunner and radioman in World War II.

Heading to Hollywood

Not giving up on his education, after his tour was over, Newman returned to college where he graduated with degrees in both drama and economics. Paul Newman then went on to earn his post graduate degree in drama from Yale University. After doing a brief stint on Broadway, Newman hesitantly headed out to Hollywood.

While Newman would find enormous success in Hollywood, he was never really the "Hollywood type." After meeting who would become his second wife, Joanne Woodward, on the set of The Long Hot Summer, Newman and Woodward maintained a quiet life outside of the Hollywood hustle and bustle in Westport, Connecticut.
