Movie dramas are top draws at theaters

Some of the top movie dramas out there are deemed such because of their moving and emotive interpersonal scenes. Others have plotlines so deep and inventive that it is impossible not to admire the film for its writing. For other movie buffs, the top drama films are not known for any particular part of the movie but for how each of the different elements come together as one.

What Defines a Drama?

A movie drama is best defined as a film that features emotive plotlines and dramatic situations. Generally, a dramatic film will focus on character development and furthering what we think we know about a character. Events in the film will either be important because they develop a character or important because they are "dramatic" in nature. Dramatic situations refer to an event in a film that elevates or explains the overall plotline.
