The Da Vinci Code Plot
The Da Vinci Code starts out with Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) promoting his new book on symbolism. Halfway through his book signing he is summoned to the Louvre where there has been a murder. The murdered person, in his last dying moments, had written clues to who his murder in his own blood. To solve the riddle, Robert Langdon must team up with the victim’s granddaughter Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou) and learn of an ancient conspiracy surrounding the Priory of Sion, a secret society dating back to the days of Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli and Leonardo Da Vinci. The two must go through much of England and France to find the answer to the biggest cover up in the history of mankind.
My Review
The Da Vinci Code started out as a great movie with plenty of action--gunfights, backstabbing, and car chases. It made me think, but toward the end, they seemed to draw out the ending as much as possible. This gave me time to think how improbable the whole plot really was. The ending itself was okay, but it seemed like it was just thrown together at the last second. Overall I would give this movie a 7 out of 10.
