Many film fans find themselves wondering how to contact movie producers. Some find interest in contacting some of Hollywood's greatest to get tips on how to get into the business while others just have comments regarding a producer's last film.

Often, producers get hundreds of pieces of a mail a day (especially the more popular producers!). With that, a producer is less likely to respond to you if:

• You are just asking for an autograph. At best, the person in charge of his mail will just send you a headshot.
• If you are trying to send a script to a producer to try and get him involved in the project, he or she is likely to discard it (unless you are contacting through an agent).
• While producers generally are caring and sociable, they do not have mounds of free time. As a result, if you are writing to ask for tips of the trade, do not be heartbroken if your favorite producer does not respond.

So what makes a good reason to figure out how to contact movie producers? Reasons including:

• Compliments and criticism. If you have something to say about a producers recent film, be sure to let them know. Depending how moving your letter, they may respond.

• Even in the age of technology, books are written on how to contact many of Hollywood's hottest stars. Find an update to date book related to the topic and you'll be able to get in touch with your favorite producer.
• If you live in a big city, see if you can attend a special screening or speech where the producer you would like to get in touch with is speaking. These opportunities can be a great way to get a hold of someone you may not have much contact with otherwise.
• If attending a speech is out of the question, turn to the Internet. Many producers will often get involved in Internet chats with their fans. During these opportunities, you can get 'face time' to speak with your favorite producer.
• For smaller producers, look to see what festivals they are involved in. Generally, the staff of film festivals are more than happy to put film fans in contact with producers to discuss a new release.
• If all else fails, you can contact a movie producer by going through larger organizations such as the Screen Actors Guild or through the American Film Institute. While it may seem far fetched, it may be your only hope.

While it may sometimes be difficult to get in touch with a movie producer, it is almost always something possible. Like the saying, "If there's a will, then there's a way," you will be able to figure out how to get in touch with your favorite producer if you really want to.
