How it Works

Renting movies through the Blockbuster online movie rental service is a relatively simple process. Once you become a member, just sign on to the website to select your favorite titles. Create a list of all the movies you would like to see, in order of preference. Blockbuster sends out three titles, or the number specified by your individual agreement. Watch the movies at your own pace and return them when you are ready. When it comes to returning the flicks, you have two choices: return them by mail in the prepaid envelope or exchange them at your local store. Within two business days, you'll receive replacement titles.

Additionally, members are given one free in-store rental each month.

No Late Fees

With an online rental subscription, you are free to keep movies as long as you like. You will continue to pay the monthly fee and no new movies will be sent, but you can keep the movies until you are ready to return them.

Blockbuster Online Movie Rental Fees

At the time of this writing, Blockbuster is offering a free trial for its Total Access online movie rental program. After the trial, subscription fees are as follows:

• $5.99: This plan gives you a total of two rentals per month, with one out at a time.
• 7.99: With this plan, you can rent up to three movies per month, with one title checked out at a time.
• $9.99: The $9.99 plan offers unlimited monthly rentals, with one title checked out at a given time.
• $14.99: For less than $15 per month, customers have unlimited monthly rentals, with two titles out at a time.
• $17.99: This popular plan allows three rentals at a time and unlimited monthly rentals.

All plans qualify members for a free in-store rental.

Points to Remember

Whether you have already signed up for the Blockbuster online movie rental service or are simply considering it, keep the following in mind:

• Before you can sign up for the online service, you must have an in-store membership. There is no fee for this.
• Movies picked up in the store are not automatically removed from your online movie list. You must sign in to your account to remove these titles. Otherwise, you will receive duplicate titles in the mail.
• Video games are not included in the online rental program.
• Free coupons may be redeemed for either movies or video games.
• Free in-store video game or DVD titles must be returned to the store.
• VHS titles are not available through these plans.
